Why APSRTC have Z on there number plates.

The Reason why RTC buses have "Z"on there number plates:

The Z in number plates of APSRTC and TSRTC indicates that the name of Nizam ruler mother her name is ZAHRA BEGUM who is the mother of the last ruler of the Nizam Hyderabad state,MIR OSMAN ALI KHAN,NIZAM VII. In june of 1932 the Nizam's Road Transport was established as a part of Nizam State Railwith 27 buses and 166 employees. Later Nizam's State Rail is changed into Nizam's State Rail and Road Transport Department (N.S.R.R.T.D).

From the very first vehicle of the N.S.R.R.T.D the registration number of the vehicle contained the letter "Z" in the honor of Zahra Begum and on 17 september 1948 when Nizam handed his supremcy to Indian govt. then they one the agreement is that ever bus of the R.T.C should have the registration with letter"Z" and it should be continued for later on.
